Teen pregnancy remains a significant social and public health concern that has far-reaching implications for both the individual teenagers involved and society as a whole. Addressing this issue requires a comprehensive approach that includes providing support, education, and resources for adolescents.
In this episode, host Dina Sargeant was joined by Anthony Ajayi, an associate research scientist at the African Population and Health Research Center. He co-leads the center's adolescent sexual and reproductive health research program. He has extensive experience in multi-country research, employing various methods such as quantitative and qualitative designs, political analysis, and systematic reviews.
Anthony is a principal investigator on the "Challenging the Politics of Social Exclusion" project, which aims to strengthen policy engagement for adolescent sexual and reproductive health in sub-Saharan Africa. With over 85 peer-reviewed articles, he's a senior editor at BMC Women's Health and a consulting editor for AIDS and Behavior journals. Anthony previously taught research methods as a research fellow and lecturer at the University of Fort Hare, South Africa.
