Bullying is a major concern for parents as it can significantly impact their child's emotional and mental health. The consequences of bullying can take various forms, such as decreased interest in social interactions, fear of attending school, and other adverse changes in behavior. Parents play a crucial role in preventing bullying by fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere in the home.

In this episode of “Raising Parents”, host Dina Sargeant is joined by Stella O’Malley, a psychotherapist, public speaker and a parent with many years’ experience working in counselling and psychotherapy. She is also an author of two best-selling books 'Cotton Wool Kids' in 2015 and 'Bully-Proof Kids' in 2017.

Stella shared insightful information about what parents need to know about bullying, including the importance of open communication with children to address bullying, identifying warning signs that a child may be a victim, and equipping children with the skills to stand up for themselves and others. She also highlighted the role of schools in establishing a safe and inclusive environment for students.
