Listen "Raglan Talking to Raglan - 20-05-2025"
Episode Synopsis
After grumbling at the Long Term Plan hearing earlier this afternoon, I finally got a reply to my 11 April email. Council now say an investigation of a new bridge and tourist signage have been dropped from the LTP and also there is now no mention of that single lane bridge. They say the whole of a new roundabout at Te Hutewai/Wainui is funded by the developer and Waka Kotahi. Of the previous $1.3m of roading projects, ratepayers are now contributing $112,165 for walking and cycling and $83,872 for traffic calming, both by loans, rather than current rates. I asked if that meant there was no planning for population growth, but was told, in regard to the bridge and additional corridor, there has been traffic modelling done, as well as historic structure plans which address growth. I hope to find out more by next week. Also Morning Show interviews from our councillor and about Karioi's birds.
