Episode Synopsis
Adult themes and discussions
The Everyday Business show is not just about business. Its also about life and the universe and today we take a purposeful step away from business to talk to a very special man, Brett James Bishop.
All About the Guest:
Brett James Bishop is a Filmmaker, director and writer as well as a son, brother and friend. He has also been an online friend of mine for a long time. We started a conversation back in 2019 around the time that the documentary Neverland was released and led to further conversations and the desire for Brett to tell his story for the first time. It’s a privilege to share this time with Brett and I want the audience to be especially cognizant of the courage it takes to speak your truth. I made a promise to Brett that I would be there with him when he decided to talk publicly about his journey, I’m keeping that promise today and I hope you will join me in welcoming to the show Brett James Bishop.
WELCOME to the show Brett! I am delighted I can share you with the global audience.
Questions for the Guest: these are a guide only and we will just have a conversation and go where it goes. Brett I have purposefully kept it simple to allow the flow of conversation to be what it needs to be.
1. Let’s start at the beginning, and talk about growing up? Childhood abuse, growing up gay in the Mormon region, how unhealed trauma leads to substance abuse, alcoholism, healing from trauma, impacts of trauma, triggering, life after trauma…./.
2. What difficulties did you face along the way and what did you learn from them?
3. Tell us about your filmmaking, who is your influence and what is it about filmmaking that drives your passion?
9. What’s the big mission and Vision for you personally – where do you see yourself in 10 years?
