Narottama Das Thakur spent his life absorbed, absorbed in relishing the nectar of the holy name and tasting the sweetness of Krishna’s beautiful pastime and worshipping Krishna’s all beautiful form and under order of his Gurudev; he went from Vrindavan back to Kethuri. And his Guru Maharaj gave him two instructions prominently. He said “You should always take the name of the Lord and broadcast in a spirit of compassion to the common people, the great message of pure love of God and worship the Lord in His deity form.” Narottama Das Thakur, he attracted literally millions of people to the path of pure devotion to the God, simply by his humble example, the purity of his Love and the profound nature of his speaking. He wrote thousands of songs, songs even today in our temples all over the world, every single day we sing his songs. In the morning, during our Guru Puja to our beloved Guru Maharaj, Srila Prabhupada we sing ‘Sri Guru Charana Padma’ which is the expression of Narothama Das Thakur’s love for his Guru Maharaj, Lokanath Goswami. It is the standard and the example.
