Here's an idea for a book for anyone out there that has the inclination to consider it. We have walked through the red-letters chronologically and we are heading toward Jerusalem. All along the way, the Pharisees have been close behind. It would be really cool to write a book in the first person as a Pharisaic character. He is self-deluded, proud, and believes in his hardened heart that Jesus is the very thing that will destroy the relationship between God and men.
The pharisees have been trailing Jesus since His baptism. We pick up here in our red-letter journey just after Jesus has issue a scathing indictment of the Pharisees in the Parable of the Shrewd Manager. Today, we spend a little time getting to know the Pharisees so that when they sneer at Jesus we can grasp the full weight of Jesus indictment.
