Unless you've been building up a college fund since your child was very young, you probably don't have the money to cover cost of tuition and room and board at some four year university or college. The average cost of tuition, fees, room and board for the typical four year college was $25,707 during the 2022 - 2023 school year, and that's the price for in-state students.The cost for out-of-state students averaged 43,421.
