Listen "Relearning Joy After Disappointment"
Episode Synopsis
Relearning Joy After Disappointment Disappointment has a way of dimming our hearts. Plans fall apart, people let us down, or prayers seem unanswered. In those moments, joy feels distant, like a song we once knew but can't remember the melody. Yet God's Word reminds us that joy is not tied to circumstances but to His presence. "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy" (Psalm 16:11). Relearning joy means leaning into God, even with the ache still fresh. It's choosing to believe He has not forgotten you, even when life feels unfair. It's opening your hands, releasing the sorrow, and allowing God to fill you again with His goodness. Joy doesn't erase disappointment, but it grows alongside it, reminding us that hope is not gone. Paul wrote from prison, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4). Joy in Christ is steady, even when life is not. Today, you don't have to pretend everything is okay. Bring your disappointment to Jesus. Let Him carry the weight. And as you sit in His presence, you'll begin to find that joy—quiet, steady, and real—is returning again.
