Episode Synopsis "Frankenstein at 200"

In 1818, Mary Shelley published Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. What would nineteen-year-old Mary think if she knew that, two hundred years later, we’re still reading, discussing, and celebrating her novel? On October 22, the Penn Yan Public Library hosted a talk called Frankenstein at 200. Audience members watched a TEDEd refresher on the story, and then were treated to lively discussion about the book by Keuka College chemistry professor Andy Robak and local writer Bethany Snyder. Hosted by Adult Services Librarian Alex Andrasik, Frankenstein at 200 was captured on audio for the first episode of the new podcast, PYPL’s Cardigans and Conversation.
