Based on recent data supplied from Municipal Finance Authority of BC (MFA), city salaries are out of control. Burnaby mayor Mike Hurley receives an annual salary totaling $393,000. Richmond mayor Malcolm Brodie receives $362,000. Delta mayor George Harvie and Port Coquitlam's Brad West both get $347,000. And in 2023, Richmond Oval's CEO George Duncan was paid a grand total of $415,000. For comparison, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau received a total salary of $406,000. And the president of United States receives a base salary of $400,000 and additional expense allowance of $50,000.
