The Colorado State Fair is back for the 151st year. It's a tradition in Southern Colorado and this year it runs August 25 – September 4, 2023. The fair has all your favorites but also a lot of improvements. The fair has added grass, trees and colored concrete. There is also a white canopy near the Prairie Entrance that is designed to be a movie canvas for LED lights. There are $200,000 worth of LED lights, so it's not just a canopy it has its own show. Some other favorites are the Governor’s Plate that highlights Colorado’s diverse agricultural products and chefs. There's also a Fine Arts Competition and Slopper Eating Contest. There are dozens of Free attractions like the crowd favorite sandcastle. Sandscapes will sculpt 150 tons of sand into a mountain of fun you don’t want to miss. Located near the Prairie Gate.
