In late 2022, Amazon laid off a significant number of employees, including 10,000 in November and 9,000 in January of the following year. Between this two layoffs the company offered some employees a "voluntary severance" package. However, there was a miscommunication around the details of the offer, causing confusion among some employees. Despite this, Victoria decided to accept the "voluntary severance" package. It is unclear what specific benefits or terms were included in the package.
