Listen "Setting Faith-Focused Goals"
Episode Synopsis
Today, we’re talking about setting faith-focused goals—what they are, why they matter, and how you can create goals that are meaningful, aligned, and transformative. The Importance of Faith-Aligned GoalsDid you know that God is a goal-setter? From the beginning, He has given His people clear assignments, visions, and promises. Let’s take a look at a couple of examples:Abraham’s Goal: God called Abraham to be the father of many nations (Genesis 12:1-3). He didn’t give him the full picture all at once, but He gave him a direction, a purpose, and a promise.Isaac’s Goal: In Genesis 26:24, God reaffirmed His covenant with Isaac, carrying forward the promise He had made to Abraham. This shows us that faith-aligned goals don’t just impact us—they ripple through generations. So, what makes a goal faith-aligned? Here are a few key characteristics:It is rooted in God’s will, not just personal ambition. It serves a greater purpose beyond yourself. It requires faith and trust in God’s provision.Steps to Creating Meaningful Faith-Aligned GoalsNow that we understand why faith-aligned goals matter, let’s dive into how to set them:Heart Posture: Examine the desires of your heartWhat is your greatest intention? Are your motives pure? Are they driven by faith or fear?Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Your desires matter, but they need to align with God’s purpose.Pray: Talk to GodTake your goals to God and ask for His guidance.Measure your goals against your God-given purpose.Ask yourself: Who does this goal benefit? What does it contribute to God’s kingdom? Is God truly in it?Let’s Set Our Goals Together!Take a moment to write down your top three goals. Ask yourself:Are these goals from God?Who do they benefit—just me, or others too?Do they challenge me to trust God more?I encourage you to share one of your faith-focused goals with a friend, mentor, or even on social media.
