Jessica Riester and Eve Donovan are jae. They started jae in 2020 after reminiscing about their childhood Bermuda bags. Between their nostalgia for those beloved handbags and a shared passion for textiles, they set out to create a modern-day version of the Bermuda bag. Less than a year later they launched the jae Bag – made from finer materials and with greater utility in mind than the Bermuda bags of our youth. jae Bag handles are larger, crafted from solid wood and natural brass hardware, and feature slipcovers made with high-quality fabrics used in interior design. They have since added colored lacquer and acrylic handles that get “dressed” in the wide variety of slipcovers we offer. Design showrooms, estate sales and vintage markets are continual sources of textiles and inspiration for our handbags. Their aim is to be a go-to source for unique, artful, high-quality and well-crafted accessories that make a statement.
