Listen "No Vacancy - Luke 2:7"

Episode Synopsis

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:7). Little did the proprietors of that inn at Bethlehem imagine to whom it was that they were saying no vacancies when Joseph and Mary sought lodging there. What they did in guiltless ignorance, men too often do in willful rejection. In our lesson we are using the words room or vacancy in the sense of possibility of admission. It is a very discouraging sight for a weary traveler to behold a no vacancy sign on possible places of lodging. Even more disheartening is to see evidence of persons wearing the no vacancy sign for Christ in their lives. It may be said that the life of a Christian is simply a life which has admitted Christ into it. The Christian is one who has made room for Jesus in his life. The pathetic thing is that many have not made room for Christ in their lives.
