Episode Synopsis

When the construction projects were finished, Nehemiah knew there was still important work to do in Jerusalem - bringing the people back into observance of God's law. Reading the law exposed their attitudes toward it, and toward God - which brought them through the familiar cycle of hearing the Word, submitting to it, mourning over sin, rejoicing over salvation, and putting it into practice. We who know Jesus through the scriptures can rejoice that much more than the people of Nehemiah's day!
