The birth of Jesus happened exactly as God had said it would. But, it was a scene of great contrast: a very humble family, in humble surroundings, with humble witnesses, yet prophesied about for hundreds of years, and heralded by angelic messengers. But the greatest contrast of all was in the manger: the sovereign eternal Lord of the universe, born as a human infant. How could this baby be fully man, and also fully God? It's a question that was filled history's greatest minds with wonder, and has a great deal of significance for how we follow in our Lord and Savior's footsteps today.
