Bluntly, there are no climate education mandates for For K-12 or for general education at public university.For most students environmental education doesn't become accessible until you get to college and really only if that's your chosen major. Enter California Assembly Bill 1939, which aims to address this deficiency in our education system. First introduced in 2022, AB 1939 would add a science requirement to California K-12 schools addressing the causes and effects of Climate Change and offer methods to mitigate and adapt.
