We have been called to the path of service. Walking this path requires total submission to the Will of God. It is important that we see ourselves as servants who respond only to the Will of the Master. 
Fueled by our love for the Lord, we willingly constrain ourselves to a disciplined spiritual life, so that we can serve His will. We are motivated to take certain steps, no matter the cost, because we are keen on pleasing Him alone.
