Listen "Daily Devotions: More Gems From Job - August 24, 2025"
Episode Synopsis
Job 19:1–5; Job 21:7–15 (NLT)
In today’s Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall shares two powerful lessons from the book of Job. First, Job’s friends crushed him with words of condemnation, using his humiliation as “evidence of sin.” Yet Job refused to let their judgment define him, holding firm to what God had already said—that he was blameless in God’s eyes. This reminds us not to accept self-condemnation when facing trials.
Second, Job observed how the wicked often prosper, living in peace while rejecting God and declaring that prayer is useless. But Job chose a different perspective: “I will have nothing to do with that kind of thinking.” As believers, we must remember that every blessing in our lives comes from God, and even in difficult times we can confidently say, “God has been good to me.”
