Scripture Reading: Isaiah 5:20–22 (NLT)

“What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever. What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold.”

In this passage, God warns of the sorrows that come when people change the meaning of right and wrong. Isaiah speaks of those who redefine morality—calling evil good, excusing sin as freedom, and celebrating what God calls destructive. This is the reality we still see in our world today, where definitions are constantly shifting to justify corruption, immorality, and disobedience.

As believers, we are called to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. The Bible—not the world’s changing standards—defines what is good, righteous, and holy. Instead of conforming to a culture that blurs the lines, we are to hold fast to Scripture and live by God’s eternal truth.
