Since I was a teenager, my mum has made it her task to educate me and my younger sister on female health. She was 28 when she lost her sister Jane to ovarian cancer, I had only just turned a year old. From then on, I know the ins and outs of being a girl and checking myself out. With my recent diagnosis of endometriosis in March 2021, this has made me proud of my mum for educating me. I now feel as an alumni of an all girls school to educate girls who may not have someone like my mum to educate them.
Ovar It will feature episodes on a new topic relating to female health. The first few episodes will primarily focus on the types of gynaecological cancers. Other episodes will feature on endometriosis, polycystic ovaries syndrome (PCOS), to getting the HPV vaccination. No topic is off the table with my podcast.
This is the first episode of Ovar It. Focussing on all things ovarian cancer, featuring Seren Hughes, an ovarian cancer surviour.
