Episode Synopsis
On February 19, 1942 Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 after the tragic Pearl Harbor attack. Over 110,000 Japanese-Americans were forced into concentration camps. Today, we had the chance to speak with Yukio Shimomura, one of the survivors from these camps. Our conversation focuses on the recent hate crimes happening around the United States against the Asian community and patriotism in a time of injustice.
