Listen "Relevance and Redemption: Lessons from Devarim"
Episode Synopsis
In the Parshah of Devarim, we embark on a journey of words and light. Moses, our faithful leader, begins his repetition of the Torah to the people of Israel. This repetition serves as a reminder of their past, a rebuke for their mistakes, and a call to uphold the commandments as they prepare to enter the Promised Land. As we delve into the messages of Devarim, we discover the essence of care and rebuke, impartiality and justice, and the eternal relevance of the Torah. Just as Moshe cared deeply for his people, Yeshua and John also rebuked the Jewish people out of love. The Torah teaches us the importance of impartiality, a value shared by Yeshua and the New Testament. Let us explore the enduring wisdom of the Torah, its harmonious relationship with the New Testament, and its timeless relevance in our lives today. Echoes of Devarim: A Journey of Words and Light
In the echoes of time, a journey retold,
Through desert sands and trials of old.
Moses, with wisdom and heart so true,
Repeats the words, a message anew.
Devarim, the name that it bears,
"The words" that guide us, the burden he shares.
To the children of Israel, he imparts,
Lessons learned as they journeyed in their hearts.
From Egypt's chains to Sinai's peak,
The path they tread, both strong and meek.
In forty years, a nation's rebirth,
Witnessed by Moses, the chosen on Earth.
He appoints judges, their guidance sought,
To teach the people what G-d has taught.
Through desolate lands, their faith is tested,
In awe and fear, they are divinely invested.
The spies are sent, their report is heard,
Yet fear engulfs, faith is blurred.
Promised land forsaken, dreams shattered,
G-d's decree: a generation scattered.
"For your sake," Moses reveals his pain,
"I too shall not enter, the loss we sustain."
Moab and Ammon, their gates closed tight,
Yet onward they march, guided by G-d's light.
Against Emorite kings, battles are waged,
Victorious, the tribes' lands are staged.
Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh's kin,
Settled in the lands, their future to begin.
To Joshua, successor and leader of might,
Moses imparts strength, a beacon of light.
"Fear not, for G-d fights by your side,
In conquest and battles, His power will guide.
"In Devarim's embrace, we find our way,
The eternal heritage, in the land we stay.
Let us heed the words, as Moses implores,
In unity and faith, our destiny soars.
So, may blessings descend upon us all,
As we walk the path, heed the divine call.
Through the words of Devarim, our souls ignite,
Guided by G-d's presence, forever shining bright.

We say the traditional Jewish prayers, read the Torah portion of the week (or the holy day) as all Jews do around the world, and listen to a few drashes (insights based on Torah).
