He is the author of Diabetic Eye Disease: LessonsFrom a Diabetic Eye Doctor, which was included in the “Top 12 DiabetesBooks” by Diabetes Update magazine in 2004. He is editorial advisor to Reviewof Optometry and Optometry Times, AOA representative to the NationalDiabetes Education Program, Primary Investigator for the Diabetes VisualFunction Supplement Study (DiVFuSS), and Adjunct Professor of Optometry atWestern University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. Dr. Chous has had type1 diabetes since 1968.
