27/04/2023 24 min Temporada 2 Episodio 85

Listen "#85 | Exodus and the Atonement: The High Priest Garments Part 1"

Episode Synopsis

In this episode we explore the connection between the Glory-Presence of God, Mt. Sinai, The Tabernacle of Meeting, and the High Priest Garments, as well as the function and role of the High Priest as a reflection and representative of God to the Israelites, and of the Israelites to God. All of the colors overlap, and are tied to the colors one would have seen in God's Glory-Presence on Mt. Sinai. The idea is that the High Priest is a symbol of God's Glory-Presence, and the transformation that takes place as we move deeper into his presence. That's one of the reasons God says his garments represent "glory and beauty".
In the New Testament, Jesus is identified as our High Priest because he not only reflects and represents us to God and God to us, but he also actually becomes one of us and bridges the gap between us and God in a way that has never happened before. He became flesh and blood and enters into death so that he can pioneer a way out of our warped and broken condition, leading many sons to glory.
