Listen "#103 | Faith to Keep Moving Towards the Promise Land - Part 3"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode we keep digging into the story of the Israelites' struggle to believe the word of God's promise. We focus on what it means to enter God's rest, and how the good news of God's promise to enter his rest only benefits us when it is mixed with our faith. God really does want us to enter into his rest, but our struggle to experience his rest is directly linked with our struggle to believe the word of his promise.
The good news is that we do not have to get rid of our doubt, anxiety, fear, and worry all on our own. The writer of Hebrews tells us that the word of God can cut right through the many layers of our doubtful attitudes, thoughts, and intentions and go right to the very heart of where our distrust and unbelief towards God and his word is located. God wants to cut it out of us. The word of God that the writer of Hebrews is refering to is primarily referring to the spoken word of God that comes to us either through direct revelation from God, or through another person who is speaking God's revelation to us. God sees everything and knows exactly what we need to hear to get us "unstuck" and moving forward so that we can start to experience his rest. The question is: will we seek him and listen to the word(s) he speak to us?
Key Passages
Numbers 13:1-14:45
Hebrews 4:1-2, 11-13
