Episode Synopsis
Mitchell Simmons is the Director of Operations for the University of Wisconsin Women's Basketball Team. Prior to this role, he was the Director of Operations for the Boston University Women's Basketball Team from 2019-2021, and was a student manager for the UConn Women's Basketball Team from 2015-2018. Mitchell talks about growing up in Hartland, Vermont, playing basketball and soccer growing up, how several injuries on the soccer field led him to UConn, and why he decided to become a student manager. Mitchell describes the hard work that student managers put in, what it was like working with the coaching staff, and becoming friends with many of the players. He discusses the opportunity to become Director of Operations at Boston University when Marisa Moseley took the head coaching position, being a full-time DOBO and a part-time Graduate Student, and his time at BU. He then explains why he took the DOBO job at Wisconsin when Marisa Moseley took over as Head Coach, his relationship with her, and his excitement for the upcoming 2022 season.
