Episode Synopsis
In episode 13, Andrew and Chad bring on Michael Tringali. Mike played in college with Andrew and he is currently an assistant coach at D3 powerhouse University of Rochester. Mike brings plenty of banter but also offers us interesting insight into his soccer journey. Growing up in northern NJ, Mike was able to put together a stellar youth career that landed him at Stevenson University.
His standout performances as a goalkeeper pushed him to the coaching side of the beautiful game. Mike has now worked on 4 different coaching staffs (Goucher, VMI, NIU, Rochester). Along with walking us through his soccer journey, we talk about how to evaluate goalkeepers and the similarities and differences between GK specific training and team training.
