Straight off the back of the Australian film “Ride Like A Girl” which tells the life story of Michele Payne, I was so lucky to interview another Australian female jockey, Samantha Gordon. Although Samantha is now retired, she still maintains strong connections to her Racing family and has dedicated her post racing life to giving back. Knowing firsthand the pressures and difficulties that accompany the highs of racing, Samantha has now commenced her counselling service to help other jockeys and elite sports personalities with their mental health wellbeing. Her story is compelling and inspiring, so saddle up, this is one great ride!
