Episode Synopsis

Thank you for joining us for episode 27 of OccPod, the official podcast of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. This episode continues the COVID Conversations series, which is dedicated to sharing the latest COVID-19 news, and frame conversations through the lens of science with a focus on OEM, or occupational and environmental medicine.
This episode continues the conversation surrounding the differences between rapid and PCR testing for COVID-19. Terms like PCR, rapid testing, and antibody testing are splashed across websites discussing COVID-19, and it can be hard to make sense of what they mean for home and clinical settings.
In this episode, Erin and Dr. Nabeel are joined by Ross A. Mullinax, MD, MPH. Dr. Mullinax has served on active duty in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps since 2010. He completed residency training in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He currently serves as Head of Occupational Medicine and Director for Public Health at U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan. He also leads the COVID-19 response as Public Health Emergency Officer for Navy Region Japan. We hope you enjoy!
