We enjoyed talking about birds and their parenting skills SO MUCH that we decided to talk a little more about it! The process of baby birds becoming fledglings, taking that first step out of the nest is fascinating.  Also a good analogy for what we do to our human children.  Up to a point.  Birds don't come back to the nest once they jump.  Ever.  P.D. Eastman really gave us some false information in the book Are You My Mother?  An August 2022 study found that 8 in 10 young people come back to their hometown area if they ever leave at all.  More and more, for various reasons, kids are returning to their nest.  Emily has a baby bird back in the nest.  And it is not a bad thing.---Coffee Talk - a weekly podcast series by Nothin' But Fine.
