George Weinberg describes Transference this was- it "may be seen as the patient's putting on a green lens on a light and shining it on the therapist. The therapist looks green to them, and that is that. No matter what color clothing the therapist puts on, they will continue to look green to the patient. To resolve a transference, the therapist must, by this analogy, help the patient appreciate that they are using a green lens, and help the patient change that lens."
