Listen "S2E2: Building a Target for Your Aims"
Episode Synopsis
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke’s Building Up the Nerve is a podcast for neuroscience trainees that takes you through the components of a grant application with successful awardees. We know that applying for NIH funding can be daunting, but we’re here to help—it’s our job! In this episode, our grantee guests discuss how they approach writing the Specific Aims and the Research Strategy and how to determine the “right” amount of work for a research proposal. We also discuss tips on how to approach pitfalls and alternative approaches to the experimental design. Featuring Maria Ali, Neurobiology PhD Candidate at the University of Virginia, Brielle Ferguson, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University, and Nathan Smith, PhD, PI at Children’s National Hospital and Assistant Professor at George Washington University.
