Welcome back Nightbirds! This week I was joined by Janie Roberts. Janie is an educator, an equine assisted learning facilitator, and a student of various folk magic currents. Living in Colorado the past six years, she has devoted herself to creating awareness around the wild horse situation in the US. She advocates for the rescue and adoption of BLM Mustangs from government holding facilities. She shared with me about Wild Horse Circle, which is an ongoing and ever changing project centering around horses, the outdoors, and the healing power of connecting with these powerful animals out in the field through direct experience. We talked equine assisted learning, facing fears, folk magic, pitfalls of enlightenment materialist reductivism, the shortcomings of language, and so much more.
