When Jesus stood up in the temple and said, "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12) did you know he was standing in the shadows of four 75 foot tall candleabras which were used to light up all of Jerusalem through the whole first night of music and celebration for the Festival of Tabernacles every year? If Jesus was claiming that intensity of light for His teachings and salvation, what must it mean for us when Jesus says, "You are the light of the world" to His followers?! (Matthew 5:14) Are you a powerful light illuminating God's love and truth and life for those around you?
