MWALIM DaPhunkee Professor (Morgan James Peters) is a multifaceted artist whose first love is music. A 37+ year career in music as a composer, pianist, singer, and producer of jazz, soul, and house music; Mwalim Started with the viola at age ten, he played at Carnegie before age 14 and went on to attend Music & Art HS. At 26 he was one of the youngest session players in EMI Records history. As a senior in college, Mwalim started Midnight Groove Recordings in 1989 to release and promote his music, scoring numerous achievements including awards, chart positions, and international hit club recordings. Presently, he is the owner and head of production for Polyphonic Studios in Bourne, MA and a tenured Associate Professor of English, Communications and Black Studies at UMass Dartmouth.
