Episode Synopsis
Meet Andre Lewis. He shares the background of his new novel, "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea." The novel is set in the turmoil of the early 1970s and tells the story of a young Afro-Cuban man who flees a dangerous life on the street. He enlists in a Navy in flux where he finds love and redemption in a world he didn’t know existed. The novel includes a partial history of racism in the US military. Support the Show.
