WEDA has long sought the harmonization of dealer protection statutes to ensure there is one consistent set of rules in the market place. With this in mind, WEDA had lobbied the Alberta government, encouraging them to update their legislation with neighboring jurisdictions. Earlier this year, the province of Alberta followed through by adopting many of WEDA’s recommendation. WEDA CEO John Schmeiser provides some background on the most significant changes impacting dealers in the province.
