Listen "How wisdom became the property of the human race"
Episode Synopsis
# How Wisdom Spread Throughout the WorldIn Fanti-land lived Father Anansi, who possessed all the world's wisdom and frequently shared advice with those who sought his help. When the men of the country offended him, Anansi decided to punish them by reclaiming all his wisdom. He gathered it into a large pot, sealed it carefully, and resolved to hide it where no human could reach it. Anansi's son, Kweku Tsin, grew suspicious of his father's secretive behavior and followed him into the forest. There, Anansi selected the tallest tree and attempted to climb it with the heavy pot hanging from his neck. Despite repeated efforts, the awkwardly positioned pot prevented him from ascending. After watching his father struggle, Kweku Tsin called out a simple suggestion: "Why don't you hang the pot at your back?" Astonished that his son had discovered such a practical solution, Anansi realized he hadn't collected all wisdom after all. In his frustration, he threw down the pot, which shattered on a rock, releasing wisdom to scatter throughout the world for everyone to share. https://mythopia.io/story/56/how-wisdom-became-the-property-of-the-human-race
