Islam. The prophet SAW had instructed the Muslim armies to campaign to Palestine before his death; thus Abu Bakr RA organized the army tocampaign against the Romans. Khalid Ibn Walid RA who was stationed in the East after defeating Musaylamah requested permission to engage the Persian empire. Abu Bakr RA agreed.
