Listen "S1E03: A [Judith] Shakespearean Tragedy"
Episode Synopsis
What if William Shakespeare had a sister who was an equal match to him in everything? What would a regressive, misogynist society's reaction be to a genius woman? In her seminal feminist text, "A Room Of One's Own", the legendary Virginia Woolf proposed this hypothesis in order to argue for the equal place for woman writers in the pantheon of literature. This episode looks at Woolf's hypothesis about Judith Shakespeare, the poet who is still alive inside everybody.
