Using cash is the best way to survive if you are struggling with your budget during the cost of living crisis and need to be mean. It is not only the poor that are worried about paying for their rent, mortgages, food or energy bills. Unfortunately we have got too used to contactless cards, credit and debit cards and do not always know how much money we have to spend.  The money runs out before the month does and we can incur overdraft or penalty charges.It may take longer to go round the supermarket when you are using cash and making sure you have enough for your shopping. But it puts you back in control of your spending.
