About Sharla
“I believe in the infinite possibility of human potential. As a consultant, there is nothing more exciting to me than to see growth and change in the people. After many years working in education, I saw a need for more authentic conversations about racism, sexism and other ways we prevent ourselves and others from living up to their potential. My goal is to provide a space for those who serve the public to explore beliefs and often subconscious ways of being that get in the way from truly being able to help and serve those who need it most.
“My passion for what I do comes from my own experience of being overlooked and underestimated in school. I remember my academic counselors steering my towards low-skilled jobs rather than seeing my unlimited potential.
“While I barely graduated high school, I went on to graduate on top of my class in undergrad and now have a Master’s degree in Education.
“Too many people who look like me will never have the chance to see all they could become as long as those who serve have beliefs that remain unchecked.
“My style is direct, persuasive, humorous and intimate. I believe that most of us are doing the best we can with what we know. My training offers your institution/district/business an opportunity to do better and serve deeper. As leaders we have great power to shape the future and make this a country that stands by its morals. Let us not take that responsibility lightly.”
