Uttaranchal boasts of many places of pilgrimage like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Badrinath and Kedarnath to name a few and places of scenic beauty like Mussoorire, Auli, Dehradun, Lansdowne and so on...When you meet someone from Garhwal the first thing that strikes you is the simplicity and fearless attitude of the Garhwali people. This is what the natives of Garhwal Himalayas are known for. The stories of their simplicity, truthfulness and honesty have been immortalised by people all over the world who travelled these hills for exploring its scenic beauty or for peace. Jim Corbette the famous hunter turned conservationist has also mentioned about the truthfulness and honesty of the people living in Garhwal.
