Jane and Doug Anderson, long time residents of the historical city of Wilmington, North Carolina, had obtained their degrees as medical professionals from Forsyth Technical College, Bowman Gray School of Medicine, and the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. After being inspired by TV’s Ghost Hunters, they attempted to join local ghost hunting groups only to find no one would return their calls or seriously consider them for team members. With that, in 2004 they formed Port City Paranormal. As Doug is fond of saying, “ None of those other groups we contacted are still in action, but we’re still here!”Bringing their scientific training to bear, Port City Paranormal uses advanced scientific methods of investigation and ethical research. The use unbiased observation, as most of their team has no knowledge of the complaints or history of a location; quality documentation, and historical research. Tonight, Jane and Doug shared much of that documentation with us in the form of incredible photographs, video and EVP’s from haunted places ranging from their backyard of Wilmington, to upstate New York and down the eastern seaboard to South Carolina. They have investigated insane asylums, schools, homes, and old military establishments, and have even investigated the World War II battleship USS North Carolina an astounding 30+ times!
