In 1986, Top Gun gave us all these things and more and went on to become the highest grossing film of the year. It launched Tom Cruise's career to a whole new level of stardom and, despite mixed reviews, is considered something of a classic. But is Top Gun deserving of this fame, or are people getting the quality of the film confused with the quality of its soundtrack?
