Michael Burry is an American investor and hedge fund manager best known for predicting the 2008 housing market crash. A former medical doctor, he founded Scion Capital in 2000 and earned massive returns by shorting the subprime mortgage market using credit default swaps. His story was popularized in Michael Lewis's book The Big Short and portrayed by Christian Bale in the film adaptation. Burry later founded Scion Asset Management. Known for his contrarian views, he often invests in undervalued assets, including Chinese tech stocks. He has Asperger’s syndrome and is outspoken on economic and political issues, including COVID-19 policies
