Listen ""Just one look" by Tim Rogers / The Pleasureheads (feat. Mike B. on drums)"
Episode Synopsis
Recorded in Canberra, Australia, in 1989, this track was an original composed by Tim Rogers of "You Am I" fame, with myself (Mike Butcher) on drums and Adrian on bass guitar. The Pleasureheads was a university band formed by Tim while he was studying drama at ANU. We played a few local gigs in Canberra, were reasonably well-liked and perhaps the height of our "fame" was supporting Ed Kuepper that year, year when he played the ANU bar. This is just one track from a whole tape I made of the gig, via a Sony Walkman (with just an internal mic, hence why it's such poor quality). I managed to achieve the drum effect by placing my floor tom on the left, next to the hi-hat, so that I could hit it with my left hand. I played all the gigs like that.
