As you will hear in the episode, Don taught for 34 years BEFORE coming to Middletown and is finishing his 14th year at South. If you did your math, that's 48 YEARS!!! I told him this would only take 15 minutes and we ended up talking for over 45 because Don is just such a wonderful person to chat with. The 2 pieces that I took away from this conversation was: 1) the most important part of teaching is building relationships with the students and 2) Be right, be wrong, but be something.
